Link Exchange

What is it?

The link exchange program has been built for all Ashop merchants to support each other in a non competitive way. It is optional but we highly recommend you to enable this feature for strong search engine optimisation.

How it works?

The link exchange program places your link on 5 different Ashop Commerce stores in return for you displaying 5 other links on your website.
The purpose is to build you instant and permanent inbound links to help you get indexed and rank higher in search engines.
The system doesn't allow reciprocal linking (linking to the same site that's linking to yours). It distributes links in a chain like algorithm.
To prevent competition, the system doesn't link stores within the same category. (Eg. if your category is Electronics system doesn't place another electronic stores link on your website.)

Steps to Activate

There are two steps to activate this tool.
1. Go to your 'layout' menu and select 'columns editor'. Use the drop down menu to place the link exchange box where you want it relevant to your other column boxes
2. Go to the 'Marketing" menu and select 'Link exchange'. From here you need to tick the first checkbox to enable the link exchange column box in your storefront. The complete the following fields.

Prefered Display Column

You can choose which column you want the link exchange box to show in if you have activated it for both columns.

Category

Select the category your site belongs to. To prevent competition. We will not show sites from the same category.

Domain Name

You may have more than one domain name active for your store, please select the one you want active for this program.

Anchor Text

The anchor text is the actual text which will be displayed in other sites, it is the clickable link. e.g. If your site sells car cleaning products then your anchor text may be "car cleaning products"

Description Tag

The description tag is the text which will appear when a cursor is held over the anchor text. This is also known as Alt tag.
